Are you in need of a cute way to protect your laptop?
Why not make a knitted computer case? It takes only a couple of hours and would be a great gift to give to a friend!
Here’s what you’ll need:
-yarn (I used Loops and Threads’ Cozy Wool in velvet, note: I recommend a chunkier yarn because it won’t take you as long to knit)
-knitting needles( I used size 11- the thicker the needles, the quicker it will take you as well)
-1 inch wide scrap of fabric
-laptop to get measurements from
-measuring tape
*additionally, if you would like to add a a fabric flower you will need:
-needle
-thread
-1 inch wide scrap of fabric
-a ribbon
First, you’ll need to figure out how many stitches you’ll need to cast on to equal the length of the laptop. Through trial and error, I found that casting on 30 stitches would fit best. Remember that the stitches you cast on won’t necessarily give you the actual width of your knitting. You will need to knit a couple of rows to see how wide it will actually be. If you figure out your gauge size for the yarn you are working with, i’m sure that you will be able to find the number of stitches for your desired width.
Continue to knit. I wrapped the knitting I was working with around the laptop to see if it would fit. Being that the yarn was thick, I wanted to knit it so that it could be stretched over the laptop. Also, I figured it would be better to have a case that could stretch over the laptop and hug it than one that may be just right, but would let the laptop slip out.
Once you figure out your desired length, knit the ends together and begin to cast off.
Attach a piece of fabric onto the end of the yarn towards the end of your casting off. ( I did this because I was running out of yarn-but it actually leads into the next step)
You will now have what looks like a muff.
Turn it inside out.
Now weave the fabric between the bottom and the top of the muff, closing off one of the open sides. 
Once you reach the corner, tie a knot and weave the remainder of the fabric inside the “pocket”. No one will see this. 
and there you have it!
Slide your laptop on in and viola, you have a cute laptop cover!
If you want to add more flare, try adding a fabric flower!
I followed this tutorial provided by Little Livingstone.
I took a ribbon, tied it into a bow and sewed the flower onto it, then sewed it to the laptop cover.
It was as simple as that!
